ROCHESTER, Minn.- The American Automobile Association projects that 7.51 million people will be traveling by plane for their year-end holiday plans.
According to AAA this year is expected to be the second highest for holiday travel since the 2000 holiday travel season.
To help holiday travelers get to their flights safely during the season, Rochester International Airport provided some winter holiday travel tips.
Mary Gastner, director of marketing and communications for RST, said that travelers should make sure to check the TSA website to ensure their holiday gifts are safe to carry onto the plane or if they need to be stowed ahead of time.
“The other thing we would suggest is don’t wrap your packages before you travel. Wait until you get to your destination before you wrap them just in case security does need to inspect your baggage,” Gastner said.
