ROCHESTER, Minn. – The holidays can be a tough time for many members of the community
That’s why the Rochester Salvation Army served its annual holiday meal earlier today for those struggling in our area.
The non-profit had enough food to serve at least 200 guests. Over 20 volunteers were here to prepare the ham, scalloped potatoes – as well as cheesecake for dessert.
The center also provided live music and visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Major Cornell Voeller welcomes everyone in the community to join them at the table for some holiday food and cheer.
“We see a mix of people who come to our holiday meals,” he said. People who need a meal, people who want to come and sit by a friend and have someone to share the holiday with. We’re glad to offer that at the Salvation Army.”
