On May 21, 1968… WFMY News 2 reported on then-governor Ronald Reagan’s stop in Charlotte!

Reagan spoke to journalists at a Charlotte hotel on May 20th. 

He was in town to attend a fundraising dinner to get James Gardner elected as governor.

Reagan was not running for president at the time. 

He didn’t run for president until 1976.
