This 20-year Industry veteran has been an integral part of the New Media Department at the Screen Actors Guild. Prior to pioneering this burgeoning part of an ever-evolving labor Union, Kamau Talbott was busy creating other businesses and opportunities. A Cal-State Northridge and San Diego State graduate in Public Relations, he spent a lot of his time honing what would be his future career. Kamau grew up in Los Angeles, the mid-city section of the city and started in the Music Industry after college. It was there he learned his expertise in the infrastructure of this industry. After the Music Industry declined, he made a change. This change came in the form of moving into the Movie and TV business. At the time of his initial employment at the Screen Actors Guild– AFTRA there was no New Media Department. In his tenure at the Guild he went from the mail room to the board room. In 10 years, he held many positions inside of SAG-AFTRA. He has grown from support staff to management as is currently being trained as an executive. He currently holds the position of Business Representative and one-fourth of the new Influencer Relations Department. While working for the Guild he created a popular club promotions company called the Mayors of Hollywood. It was here he made connections is the nightclub world. This continued to round out his pursuit for success in Hollywood. Kamau has also been involved behind the scenes of productions that included shorts, commercials and web content. Recently he has become a screenwriter and up-and-coming director set to produce in both scripted and unscripted material
