THIS SUMMER’S WET WEATHER MEANT HEADACHES FOR JUST ABOUT EVERYONE, IT SEEMS. INCLUDING FARMERS — WHO ARE WORKING EXTRA HARD IN THE DAMAGING CONDITIONS. NBC5’S JOHN HAWKS TOOK A LOOK AT IMPACTS ON ONE FARM IN THE UPPER VALLEY. HONEY FIELD FARM – is working with what they’ve got this year. The ORGANIC PRODUCE FARM in Norwich says CUCUMBERS HAVE STOPPED GROWING… AND THE TOMATO CROP IS AT LEAST HALF OF WHAT THEY’RE USED TO. THE FARMERS WISH THERE WAS A MIDDLE GROUND BETWEEN LAST YEAR’S VERY DRY SUMMER AND THIS YEAR’S WET ONE. THEY WEREN’T FLOODED BUT DID EXPERIENCE LOTS OF STANDING WATER.
