Saidy, who was born and raised in Colombia, says she has always been fascinated by the operation of heavy machinery. In fact, a neighbor of hers often had machines at his house, helping inspire and encourage Saidy’s curiosity. As a teenager, Saidy had the opportunity to pursue a vocation through Children International's Into Employment program and is currently undergoing technical training to become a heavy equipment operator.
