Find out my favorite 5 things that I experienced in the beautiful, remote Galapagos Islands, where I spent over a week on a steel-hulled sailboat.
Along with family, about 10 other travelers, plus a fantastic guide, captain, and crew, I saw so many wild animals that you can’t see anywhere else on Earth, and enjoyed the open spaces, ocean vistas, and fresh air.
Quick Galápagos Islands facts:
— They’re in the Pacific Ocean, about 600 miles off the west coast of South America.
— They were formed by volcanoes between 3 million to 5 million years ago. (So you’ll be walking on a lot of lava rocks.)
— They’re remote and they’re protected.
— To protect the animals and landscape, you can only visit these islands with a trained guide.
So what do you think? Would you like to visit the Galápagos?
