Town by Town: Baystate Health volunteer turns 102, Precious Treasury thrift store unveiling [Video]

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – Town by town is taking you to Chicopee and Springfield.

A grand opening was held on Tuesday for a new thrift store in Chicopee.

Precious treasury thrift store is now located at 924 Chicopee Street.

The store will be open Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Not only can you shop there, but the store also welcomes donations of non-perishable food items, canned goods, toiletries, and gently used clothing so they can be provided to local families in need.

Lastly, Baystate Health leaders, staff and volunteers celebrated longtime volunteer Herb Norman’s 102nd birthday.

Norman has been volunteering at Baystate since 1990 and is both the longest-running volunteer and oldest.

He’s a recognizable face at Baystate Medical Center, volunteering on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

He works in the Daly Lobby, helping patients and visitors find their way around the hospital.
