KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs fans heading to Las Vegas can expect a very busy airport this week as they embark on their Super Bowl trip.
With the busy airport, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has given travelers a few tips to have a seamless travel experience.
TSA officials expect travel volume to increase out of Kansas City International Airport this week as locals head to Super Bowl LVIII.
The average daily passenger volume at KCI is typically 14,000 passengers per day. This week is expected to grow to 16,000 to 17,000 passengers daily leading up to the game on Sunday.
TSA advises travelers to get to the airport at least two hours before their scheduled flight to ensure enough time to get through security.
“Planning is critical when traveling on busy weeks like this,” said Angela Brooks, TSA Federal Security Director for Missouri.
