Bettendorf Police Department offers patch for autism awareness [Video]

April is World Autism Month, and the Bettendorf Police Department is partnering with the Quad Cities Autism Center and Hand in Hand to raise awareness and money for the Quad-City nonprofits.

The Bettendorf Police Department is offering a patch that features colorful puzzle pieces, a symbol used by autism awareness and acceptance groups. “We ask that you join the Bettendorf Police Department in helping us increase awareness, understanding and celebrate those with autism,” Bettendorf Police Chief Keith Kimball said. “By showing this support, we can strive to reach the goal of achieving true acceptance for those with autism in our communities.”

Patches and apparel can be preordered through March 31 here. Patches will also be available to purchase in April at the Family Museum and the Bettendorf Public Library (both Certified Autism Centers), the Bettendorf Police Department and LiveWell Chiropractic & Wellness Center.
