Coronation Street star set for surprise new role away from the cobbles | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV [Video]

Coronation Street star Simon Gregson will soon be seen in a new show away from the cobbles. The star, who has played Steve McDonald in the Manchester set ITV soap since December 1989, will be pitting his wits against The Banker in Deal Or No Deal.

The dad-of-three has been confirmed to appear in a celebrity special of the nail-biting game show, which sees a contestant confronted with 22 sealed boxes, each one hiding a different amount of money. Without knowing what each one contains, they must eliminate the boxes, which are opened one at a time, and the amount of money inside is revealed.

Along the way, they are tempted by The Banker, who makes them offers for their boxes. While some people have won life changing money on the show some have gone away with next to nothing. However, Simon will be hoping for the former since he is playing for charity.

Meet London Marathon runner who drank glass of wine at every mile | Lifestyle [Video]

A London Marathon runner who has gone viral for drinking a glass of wine at the end of each mile has revealed how he felt at the end of the race. Tom Gilbey, 52, took on the challenge to raise money for the hospice where his mother was cared for in her final days. Instead of drinking water to keep hydrated after each mile, Mr Gilbey had a different glass of wine - consuming 25 glasses in total. In an incredible achievement, he completed the 26.2 mile run in four hours and 41 minutes, and has raised over 13,500 for Sobell House Hospice Charity in Oxfordshire.
