Dale Countys Bridge Academy to expand thanks to new grant [Video]

OZARK, Ala. (WTVY) – Dale County School’s Bridge Academy plans to expand thanks to a grant from the office of Alabama Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth.

Superintendent Ben Baker said the school district received nearly $1 million as part of the grant, with that money planned to be used to add more classrooms to the academy building.

Bridge Academy focuses on career tech programs that prepare students for careers in teaching, aviation and more.

The academy opened a year ago, and they have quickly outgrown their space.

“We don’t want to turn any students away, because we want them to gain these skills where they can go out and make a living for their family, and stay in the Wiregrass and not have to move somewhere else and find a job. I think it is so important that the state invests in programs like this, because this is a solution,” Baker …
