AUSTIN, Texas — Tax season is underway, and many Americans are collecting their W-2 forms and necessary papers in order to file on time for the year.
For some, this can be a complicated process. But one national chain is offering free services for preparation, document scanning and more.
“It costs a lot to have your return done by someone else,” AARP Foundation tax-aide Susan Smaus said. “And people are on a tight budget, so we wanna come in and feel confident that they had the return done correctly, they got all the deductions and credits they were entitled to and it was e-filed for free.”
The nonprofit’s Tax-Aide program highlights those 50 years or older and individuals with low to moderate incomes, but all are able to receive assistance.
