Governor Henry McMaster has announced his line item vetoes for the recently-passed State Budget.
At a press conference Tuesday afternoon, McMaster announced 11 total vetoes amounting to $1.5 million from the $13.3 billion state budget.
The largest individual vetoes were of a $4 hundred thousand line item devoted to a private health and education business and a $3 hundred thousand line item similarly delivering funds to a nonprofit tutorial organization.
Other vetoes included a new “Doctoral/Professional Universities classification, funds for a DHHS Personal Emergency Response System the governor listed as no longer needed, a Hazardous Waste Fund McMaster said bypasses local governmental authority, and more.
