KAB GIVE BACK GRANT PROGRAM – 2023 [Video]

KAB GIVE BACK GRANT PROGRAM – 2023

Keep A Breast Foundation to Award $100,000 to BIPOC Breast Cancer Survivors in 2023

The nonprofit organization’s Give Back Grant Program 2023 cycle is accepting applications from BIPOC women breast cancer survivors and women undergoing treatment.

AUGUST 1, 2023 – The Keep A Breast Foundation today begins accepting grant applications for its Give Back Grant (GBG) program’s fourth year of supporting BIPOC women living with breast cancer and survivors across the United States.

This is the fourth cycle of the organization’s highly successful program, which was launched in 2020. To date, Keep A Breast (KAB) has awarded 747 grants, totaling $373,500 to the BIPOC women’s survivor community.

“Keep A Breast created the Give Back Grant program to be able to get funds directly into the hands of women who need it without any red tape or lengthy application processes,” said Shaney jo Darden, KAB’s founder. “Financial stress during cancer makes a difficult time that much harder. We hope these grants provide just a little ease and love to this community.”

The program is funded in large part by a foundation grant, as well as through individual donors and brand partner fundraising.

From inception, the program has sought to acknowledge and lessen the health care gap for Black women, who historically have seen higher mortality rates upon breast cancer diagnosis than White women. The funds, which are gifted in the amount of $500 per eligible applicant, are meant to be used in whatever way BIPOC survivors and those currently undergoing breast cancer treatment, see fit. Business investment, health care costs, rent, groceries, travel, a spa day, a scar-covering tattoo, are all exactly how the organization hopes these funds will be used.

To Apply

The 2023 grant cycle is now open and accepting applications through November 1, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. PST. Anyone who is a BIPOC woman living in the United States, who has been diagnosed with breast cancer or who is a breast cancer survivor is invited to apply through the Keep A Breast site’s program page.
