A man says he’s been given a second chance at life, thanks to a local organization.
“It feels good that spots like this actually have programs and stuff that helps you,” Julian McKoy said.
Shakieta Maloya is the founder of Another Chance House of Refuge, a transitional housing program that provides resources to people who are re-entering society.

“When Julian came out of incarceration, he came directly into Another Chance House of Refuge,” she said. “And we hit the ground running.”
But without a reliable car, it was difficult for McKoy to get to his job, so Maloya connected him with Wheels4Hope.
“We’re a resource to different nonprofits who have programs that — they’re working with people who are trying to reach self-sufficiency goals,” said Adriane Singleton, a hub manager at Wheels4Hope.
