Martin County looking at creating CEO program for students

The program shows high school students what it takes to become an entrepreneur.

MARTIN COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – The Martin County Alliance for Economic Growth is looking at implementing a new program for students.

The group is looking for investors to help start a C-E-O program at both Loogootee and Shoals High Schools.

The program exists in several other counties in the Wabash Valley.

The program allows high school students to get a first-hand look at what it takes to be an entrepreneur.

Board Member Grant Sherfick says through the program, students can achieve their career goals without leaving home.

“It shows them the opportunity that exists and teaches them how they can do something for themselves, like create a business for themselves that will also serve the community.”
