MUSOKGEE, Okla. — Charles Crawford has been working on turning the Fite estate into an inn and spa.
However, he wants to keep the mansion as historically accurate as possible.
He thought he might have to spend months hunting down the correct door knobs, hinges and wood for it; instead, he found a local solution.
“The materials at Trinity Church were constructed by the same masons that built and designed this building, so it’s an identical match,” said Crawford.
After Trinity Church, a historic building in Muskogee got condemned, Crawford realized it didn’t have to go to waste.
“The inside of Trinity Church will be repurposed toward this historical mansion,” said Crawford.
Crawford says he’s excited about one part of the church in particular; the century-old stain glass windows.
