Meningitis: Dr Hilary outlines the main symptoms
This Morning star Lisa Snowdon has stressed the importance of knowing the signs and symptoms of meningitis after she was hospitalised with the disease back in 2010. As a host on Capital Radio at the time, the presenter began feeling “really unwell” with a stiff neck and “crippling head pain” for around three weeks, but took painkillers for her symptoms as she didn’t believe it was anything serious.
After becoming light sensitive and feeling like she was going to faint however, Lisa, 51, who was appointed the new charity President for Meningitis Now earlier this month, grew concerned and was swiftly taken to hospital after seeking doctor’s advice.
“That’s when it kind of clicked,” she told Express.co.uk. “I became really poorly the day before I was hospitalised, I looked up at the lights in the studio and remember being really uncomfortable looking at them.
