Unlikely Bedfellows: Public and Private Partnership is a template for a new America. In a small town in the deep south, Franklin, TN., outside Nashville, I’m a new stranger charged with heading up a Non-Profit ministry to provide for the underserved. As I’ve spearheaded the win-win dynamic and know it firsthand, we can create synergy and connection for success between local government and nonprofits to find unique and creative ways to help and serve our communities. Valencia A. Breckenridge is the CEO of GraceWorks Ministries. She has an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management where she double majored in Organizational Behavior and Marketing. Valencia brings to GraceWorks more than 30 years of faith-based nonprofit fundraising and management experience. Prior to coming to GraceWorks, she most recently served as the Major Gift Officer for Feed My Starving Children, an $80 million dollar hunger-relief organization. Before that, Valencia has held posts as Director of Development at Pioneer Clubs, as Director of Communications at Opportunity International, and as Executive Director of Crisis Pregnancy Services. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
