Damian Browne received a hero’s welcome as he arrived at the Port of Galway today.
This morning he became the first person to row from New York to Galway. It took him 112 days to complete the mammoth task.
Before 1am, Damian arrived at Furbo beach and was rescued by the Irish Coast Guard, as his boat hit the rocks by Pádraicíns.

The former Connacht and Leinster rugby player left Manhattan on June 14, clocking up 3,450 nautical miles and 2,686 hours at sea before making landfall in Ireland.
