Wildlife rescue hosts funny Valentine’s Day fundraiser [Video]

Saco River Wildlife Center in Limington says for a small donation, you can name a mealworm or fish after an ex before they feed it to one of their furry patients.

LIMINGTON, Maine — Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and this love-filled holiday is often centered around delicious extravagant foods like steak, lobster, and of course, chocolate. But have you ever considered mealworms?

Saco River Wildlife Center in Limington is giving donors a chance to name a mealworm or fish after an ex before they feed it to one of their adorable patients. Wouldn’t it warm your heart knowing the person who derailed your life is being eaten by a ravenous raccoon or a famished fox?

Center director Lauren Kennedy said this is the first year her facility is hosting this hilarious event. She said they were inspired by other rehabilitation centers in Maine that have done something similar in the past.
