Volodymyr Zelensky‘s ‘famous fleece jacket’ has sold for £90,000 at a London auction, where the Ukraine president thanked the UK for its continued support amid the ongoing Russian invasion.
The khaki jumper went for the astonishing amount at the Brave Ukraine fundraising event, hosted by the Ukraine Embassy at the Tate Modern in London on Friday.
Ahead of the auction and in a speech via video link, Zelensky praised the UK and its ‘brave’ prime minister Boris Johnson, who recently visited him in Kyiv.
Mr Johnson also addressed attendees, as he urged them to take part in the bidding for charity, suggesting Zelensky’s fleece, which he often wears while addressing his people, could go for ‘a snip at £50,000’.
